The Bonifacio Global City Facebook page keeps its BGCitizens updated with important updates on what people can expect during the quarantine period. From friendly reminders to advisories of stricter implementation of safety protocols, community mall hours, open car parks, supermarkets, drugstores, and restaurants with limited operations as well as other valuable information.
Citizens are also able to add questions such as if it’s allowed to do outdoor activities such as jogging, which are promptly answered. Followers of the page are also frequently reminded of following curfew hours and basic safety protocols: mask + face shield + social distancing.
Innovative solutions
Having experienced a community quarantine a year earlier, the city has provided us with some simple and even innovative ways to make it easier for its citizens to do essential activities while still following the safety protocols.
One of which is the Moovr hub, where people can use e-scooters and bicycles to move around the city which can be a safe and environmentally friendly alternative when doing exercises or going out for essential necessities. Another is making use of the BGC Bus as exclusive shuttle services to provide companies a safer option for their associates’ commute to work.
