About the Role:
The Telephony Support Specialist provides essential technical support for telephony systems, assisting end-users with their queries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliable telephony operations. This role involves day-to-day maintenance of telephony systems, including troubleshooting, performing updates, and escalating complex issues as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for telephony and VoIP issues, assisting users with troubleshooting and resolving common problems.
- Monitor telephony systems to detect and prevent issues, ensuring high service availability.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as software updates, configuration adjustments, and hardware testing.
- Document support cases, solutions, and common troubleshooting steps for the knowledge base.
- Escalate complex issues to Telephony Engineers or other technical teams as necessary.
- Work closely with other IT support teams to ensure cohesive support across systems.
- Train end-users on basic telephony functions, including phone setup and troubleshooting tips.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s orBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in technical support, preferably with telephony or VoIP systems.
- Familiarity with telephony hardware and software, including PBX and IP phone systems.
- Basic understanding of VoIP protocols and network fundamentals.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple support cases.
