Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Lead to spearhead our Payments Approval & Quality team. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing of payments, while leading and mentoring a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of payments specialists, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the payments approval process for efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee the approval of payments, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company guidelines.
- Manage payment exceptions and discrepancies, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of payments data.
- Analyse payments data and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports on payments activity and performance metrics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (accounts payable, finance) and external vendors/suppliers.
- Stay up to date on industry regulations and best practices for payments processing.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of motivating, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
- In-depth understanding of payments processing procedures, regulations, and risk management principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and relevant accounting/payments software (mention specific software used by your company if applicable)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
