Job Description:
The Team Lead – Finance & Accounting will be responsible for overseeing a team managing healthcare revenue cycle processes along with general accounting functions. This role requires expertise in medical billing, claims processing, accounts receivable (AR) management, and financial reconciliation. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence, compliance with healthcare regulations, and effective financial reporting while optimizing revenue cycle workflows.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle, including patient billing, claims submission, insurance follow-ups, and payment posting.
· Ensure timely and accurate claims processing, minimizing denials and improving reimbursement rates.
· Manage accounts receivable (AR) collections, reducing outstanding balances and optimizing cash flow.
· Work with insurance providers and payers to resolve billing disputes and expedite payments.
· Ensure compliance with HIPAA, healthcare regulations, and payer guidelines.
· Oversee general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring financial accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
· Collaborate with the finance team to analyze revenue trends, forecasting, and financial planning.
· Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data and minimize risks.
· Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
· Ensure alignment with corporate policies and industry best practices.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and improve financial outcomes.
· Assist in audits, both internal and external, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or healthcare finance certification is a plus.
· Experience: 5+ years in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
· Strong background in healthcare revenue cycle management, medical billing, and AR collections.
· Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, insurance reimbursement processes, and claims adjudication.
· Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
· Proficiency in ERP systems, medical billing software, and Microsoft Excel.
· Experience working with US-based healthcare providers or payers is preferred.
