Summary:
The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance employee skills and performance within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies and the ability to align training initiatives with business objectives as well as evaluate the effectiveness of training programs conducted.
Responsibilities:
Needs Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across various departments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through data analysis and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Instructional & Curriculum Design:
- Design and develop engaging training materials using ADDIE, blended learning, and microlearning techniques.
- Create curricula that align with organizational goals and address specific learning objectives.
Training Delivery & Facilitation:
- Deliver training sessions using adaptable, engaging, and learner-focused approaches.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and online training modules to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
Learning Technologies:
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and MS Office to create, manage, and track training programs.
- Integrate technology to enhance the learning experience and ensure accessibility.
Project & Time Management:
- Manage training projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budget.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue preparation, and resource allocation.
Presentation Skills:
- Deliver clear and compelling presentations to communicate training objectives and outcomes.
- Present training proposals and reports to stakeholders, showcasing the value of L&D initiatives.
Clear Communication:
- Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders to promote training programs and gather feedback.
- Ensure clear and concise communication of training materials and instructions.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:
- Identify and address challenges in training delivery and content to improve the learning experience.
- Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Adaptability & Resilience:
- Adapt to changing business needs and incorporate new training methodologies and technologies.
- Demonstrate resilience in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop relevant and effective training programs.
- Engage stakeholders in the training process to ensure alignment with business goals.
Strong Interpersonal Skills:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees and stakeholders.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Quality Audits & Content Reviews:
- Conduct regular quality audits of training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Review and update content to reflect current industry standards and best practices.
Coaching & Performance Management:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to enhance their performance and career development.
- Support performance management processes through targeted training interventions.
Data Analysis for Impact Measurement:
- Analyze training data to measure the impact of L&D initiatives on employee performance and business outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the value of training programs to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of proven experience in learning and development, preferably in a BPO setting.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Proficiency in using LMS and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
