About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced L2/L3 IT Operations Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, driving continuous improvement through automation and proactive monitoring. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including system management, automation, security, compliance, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- System Management:
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of IT systems and applications.
- Implement and maintain system management platforms (SMPs) for centralized monitoring and automation.
- Perform system updates and patch management according to established procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and operational issues.
- Proactively identify and address potential IT risks and vulnerabilities.
- Automation:
- Develop and implement automation scripts to automate routine tasks and workflows.
- Utilize scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate administrative tasks.
- Identify opportunities for further automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Security and Compliance:
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
- Monitor security logs and events for suspicious activity.
- Maintain and update security documentation as needed.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations and security standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date IT documentation.
- Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and other relevant data.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through written and verbal reports.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze IT performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Propose and implement new processes and procedures to optimize IT operations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in IT operations.
Working schedule:
- UK 7AM – 7PM / PH 3PM – 3AM
- 4 working days
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferably).
- At least 4 years of experience in IT operations or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of system administration principles and practices.
- Experience with system management platforms like SCCM, Nagios, or Prometheus.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft and/or Google cloud platforms is a plus.
- Relevant industry certifications (ITIL, CompTIA, etc.) is a plus.
