About The Role

Principle Responsibilities

Owning the application performance monitoring
Implementing Telemetry-as-Code into the CICD process through a combination of AWS CDK, APM tool scripting, and monitoring as code.
Log monitoring and alerting
Anomaly detection
Metric categorization
Dashboard construction
Communicating the work to the organization to drive performance improvement
must be comfortable working in a 100% infrastructure as a code environment with extensive knowledge of AWS  service offerings and .NET application development.
Daily tasks will include:

Update AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) typescript constructs for monitoring, logging, and alerting
Create and maintain telemetry as code in the APM tool
Create and maintain deployment orchestration of telemetry
Troubleshoot Microsoft .NET application performance and functionality
Identify and implement opportunities for quality improvement using test automation
Administer and interpret results from performance tools such as X-Ray, CloudWatch Logs, and Dynatrace APM to promote continuous improvement of products to our customers
Review and enhance runbooks, knowledge base documentation, and log defects
Assist with moving workloads from on premise data center to cloud
Learn and stay up to date with current AWS best practices and service offerings 

 

Position Requirements

Required Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field
Experience using application performance monitoring tools
Preferred Experience

At least five (2) years of experience administering Amazon Web Services
At least two (3) years of experience administering application performance monitoring tools
AWS Certification in one or more of the following
Advanced Networking
DevOps Engineer – Professional
Solutions Architect – Professional
At least one (1) year of writing and supporting AWS CDK code
Advanced knowledge of .NET application development
At least two (1) years of experience building CI/CD automation processes
Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written
 A team player who excels at knowledge sharing and understanding the interpersonal aspects of working in a team.
